Every Sims expansion and game pack brings something different to the game. Some are more feature-rich than others, while they might be lacking in cosmetics. Gameplay elements introduced through game packs and expansions vary from one to another, with some being more gameplay focused while others tend to focus on cosmetics.
Vampires was a lovely game pack for the Sims 4, bringing us a bit of fresh air from the Transylvanian mountains, vampires and everything connected to the world of vampires. Here is how the game pack integrates with already present expansions and packs.
Vampires Bring Vampires
While it may be obvious that the eponymous game pack brings vampires into the game, what might not be obvious are all the traits and lore that go with the pack. Among the key features are the ability to create your own vampire sim. You can create them to be a vampire from the get go or they can become one over the course of their life.
Given that vampires are immortal, your own sim could make it to the next game, living the life of a vampire, provided that they have enough plasma. Vampires can visit the Forgotten Hollow, a place for vampires to chill and socialize. They still aren’t welcome in regular communities.
Vampires Integrate Into the Society
Provided that you don’t outright scare and transform in front of another non-vampire sim, your vampire is good to go unless they go outside in direct sunlight. Vampires now have to take umbrellas if it is a clear and sunny day outside. If it is overcast, then they are fine and can chill outside. They can, of course, stalk during the night.
Vampires have aspirations, just like other sims, such as being Vampire Family, Good Vampire and Master Vampire. Vampires look like normal sims but have to turn into their dark form if they want to turn other sims, mind-control them or drink their blood.
Are Vampires Doomed to Drink Blood?
Well, not, the game presents us with a convenient solution called plasma fruit. Vampires have Thirst, which is a need for plasma. While they do suffer from Thirst, they don’t need to use the bathroom, so a bladder check is not important. You should still have a toilet. Don’t wanna spook the meat, err, guests, too soon.
The pack brings other gameplay elements, such as the pipe organ, akin to the piano skill, but creepier. There is also the return of the coffin, a vampire’s resting place and another space to engage in WooHoo.
Items And Styles
Vampires get their own style, of course, and most vampire hairdos are gothic-themed, which is appropriate if you want to stand out. The pack introduces 151 items for build mode as well as in terms of items and clothes. Lot traits and vampire ranks are added, as well as lore, which helps a sim become more powerful and knowledgeable as a vampire.
The vampire game pack is a great game pack that integrates almost flawlessly with other game packs, and serves as a base for great mods like the Werewolves mod.
