When you have a game that has been going on for so long, then you are met with impossible choices. The first choice is to choose a game from the series. Some avid gamers and lovers of the Sims franchise (ourselves included) own all the games and expansions, but that is not for the average gamer who has dedicated their wallet to one Sims game only.
Since the entire series has so many expansions, we should take a look at some of them which are worth more than others, in terms of content and gameplay.
Here are the Sims expansions that you simply must have.
The Sims 4 – Seasons
The seasons expansion basically makes the game much better. Adding seasons adds realistic gameplay which caters to every season. The expansion gives you activities that no other expansion can offer in such detail. Every season is a story of its own and brings weather changes, leaves, fruits, the cold, the heat. You name it, the Seasons expansion will do it for you. It is worth noting in advance that the expansion is the best choice for three out of four games.
The Sims 3 – Also Seasons
The expansion is called Seasons, but given that the best one for the fourth game was also named Seasons,, this one comes in first, the best of the many great Sims 3 expansions. The Sims 3 is already an amazing game and thought by many to be the best in the series, if not the second best if they are nostalgic about the first.
Seasons takes that experience and gives you the seasons, the changes that come with each season, which is to be expected, given that it was the second time it was introduced as an expansion.
The Sims 2 – Seasons Galore
The Sims 2 was a bug fest, a better game than the fourth edition, but also buggy. However, every now and then, you would see a gem and in this case, the Sims 2 – Seasons, was the first expansion to really bring it to life.
Weather changes were introduced, but not just rain and snow and sunny days, but also changes in the lighting. The days would be shorter and longer, depending on the season, and the Sun would behave accordingly. There were a plethora of activities that your sim could do, for the first time, all corresponding to a season, of course.
The Sims 1 – Livin’ Large
The Livin’ Large expansion pack was the first ever expansion pack in the Sims franchise. It is the best pack to get for the game, because it basically sets a precedent. It brings many new activities to an already good game, from career choices to purchasable objects. From kitschy wallpapers and furniture to tasteful ones, you can really turn your household into a mansion with this pack.
These are the best expansion packs that you can get for every version of the game, presented in a simplified way, Seasons for the newer games and Livin’ Large for the first.
